Radiation crosslinking of plastics

Proven High-Efficiency Technology

RDL S.A. has specialized for years in manufacturing products from refined polyethylene and in radiation crosslinking of plastics. Thanks to the use of highenergy electron accelerators, we are one of the few companies in Europe performing this process on an industrial scale.

What is Radiation Crosslinking?

The radiation crosslinking process involves modifying the polyethylene structure using an electron beam accelerated in a vacuum with an energy of several million electron volts (MeV). Under irradiation, permanent bonds are formed between polymer chains, giving the material a new, crosslinked structure with significantly better performance properties. The result is a material with increased thermal, mechanical, and chemical resistance that maintains dimensional stability even in demanding operating conditions.
